Apple Mac Email Settings

Before you start the configuration process, make sure the program has been installed and is running properly. Open the program and follow these instructions:
  • Launch Mail (First time users will receive the Welcome to Mail window)
  • Click Continue
  • Configure the general settings for your new Email Account using the information below:
    1. Account type: POP
    2. Account Description: e.g. “Work Email”
    3. Full Name: Your full name
    4. Email address: Your email address (e.g. “username@yourwebsite.com”)
    5. Click Continue
  • Configure the Incoming Mail POP server settings using the information below:
    1. Incoming Mail Server: pop.yourwebsite.com (make sure to replace ‘yourwebsite’ with your actual website address)
    2. User Name: Enter your full email address
    3. Password: Your password for this account
    4. Click Continue
  • Configure the Incoming Mail Security settings using the information below:
    1. Authentication: Select Password
    2. Check Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) if required by your ISP or email provider
    3. Click Continue.
  • Configure the Outgoing Mail Server settings using the information below:
    1. Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.yourwebsite.com
    2. User Name: Your full email address
    3. Password: Your password for the email address
    4. Check the box for Use Authentication
    5. Click Continue.
  • Account Summary Screen
    1. Confirm your settings
    2. Click Continue.
    3. Your account has been created!
  • Changing Default SMTP Port
    1. If your ISP is blocking port 25 (default SMTP Port) you will be required to use Matmon Mail’s alternative SMTP port 2525. Open Mail. In the menu bar, choose Mail -> Preferences, and then
      click Accounts.
    2. From the Accounts list, select your account, and then click the Account Information tab.
    3. From the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) dropdown menu, choose your outgoing server. Click the Server Settings button.
    4. Change the “Server port” to 2525.
    5. Click OK to save your settings.
