Outlook® 98 and 2000 E-Mail Settings
Before you start the configuration process, make sure the program has been installed and is running properly. Open the program and follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Tools menu and select Services.
  2. Click the Services tab.
    • For Outlook® 2000, go to the Tools menu, select Accounts, then the Mail tab, then the Add button.
  3. If Internet E-mail is listed as an information service, highlight it and click Properties.
  4. If it isn't listed, click Add, then highlight Internet E-mail and click Add.

  1. In the first field under Mail Account, enter what you would like to call the account, i.e. My Mail.
  2. Next to Name: if desired, enter your display name.
  3. Next to Organization: if desired, enter your organization's name.
  4. Next to E-mail address:, enter userID@yourwebsiteaddress.com.
  5. Next to Reply address:, enter userID@yourwebsiteaddress.com.
  6. Click the Servers tab:

  1. Next to Incoming mail (POP3): enter pop.yourwebsiteaddress.com.
  2. Next to Outgoing mail (SMTP): enter your Internet Service Providers SMTP Information or smtp.yourwebsiteaddress.com.
  3. Next to Account name: enter userID@yourwebsiteaddress.com.
  4. Next to Password: enter your password. You can check the Remember password box if you want the computer to remember your password on each login. (Password is case sensitive!)
  5. Check the My server requires authentication and then click on "Settings..." button.

Outgoing Mail Server Settings
  1. Click the Connection tab.
  2. Depending on your connection to the Internet, either click the box next to Connect using my local area network, or if using a modem, click the box next to Connect using my phone line.

  1. Click the Advanced tab.
  2. Under Server Port Numbers:
  3. Make sure 25 is entered into the Outgoing mail (SMTP): field.
  4. Make sure 110 is entered into the Incoming mail (POP3): field.
  5. Both (SSL) blocks should be unchecked.
  6. Click OK and click OK again.
  7. You are now ready to check your e-mail.
