Outlook® 2003 E-Mail Settings
Before you start the configuration process, make sure the program has been installed and is running properly.

On Windows XP, follow these instructions:

  1. Click Start, and then hold your cursor over the Settings.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Click Switch to Classic View, and then double-click Mail.
  4. In the Mail Setup dialog box, click Show Profiles.
  5. On the General tab, click Prompt for a profile to be used, and then click Add.
  6. In the Profile Name box, type a descriptive name (your domain can be used) for the new e-mail profile, and then click OK.
  7. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
  8. Choose POP3 then click Next.
  9. Looking at the screen shot below, fill in the text blocks as described below:

    User Information

    • Your Name: Your name -- it doesn't have to be your login name.
    • E-mail Address: userid@yourdomain.com

    Server Information

    • Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.yourdomain.com

  1. Click on More Settings ... then go into Outgoing Server tab and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

  1. When you are done, click OK, then click Next.
  2. Click Finish and you are finished.
